Brave New World by Aldous Huxley

Profound, terrifying, and beautiful.

A world where individual personality is all but removed is a distorted utopian nightmare that people are so warped by – the world of Ford is social conditioning and capitalist materialism to a horrific extreme.

The work is powerful and still serves as a message of why not to become passive sheep or mindless cogs in the societal machine – to not lose ourselves in the masses.

Beauty sacrificed for peace and efficiency is a haunting image and the common sense approach of the creators of the reality within Brave New World make it all the more chilling. It is a world where anyone within the system who manages to gain or keep a shred of awareness and individuality craves escape – of any kind.
