What I read in 2022

So hello again from the other side of the new year! I decided to try a video without a backing track this time so let me know if you guys like that or if you prefer the music.
I thought I would go through all of the books that I read in (some of) 2022 since I started writing them down. I will absolutely do the same for this year with a much more filled in list.

Autumnal book recommendations and my favourite cosy reads

So I am back with a more general book recommendation list for the colder months and cosy season. These are some of my faves and there are quite a few non-fiction on list list as I always embrace the academic vibes that I get at this time of year.

It’s spooky season so time for some Halloween reading recommendations

It is the Halloween season 🎃🎃🎃 So I thought I would trawl my bookshelves to see what spooky books I could recommend to read over this season 📚

Book Review of Oz by Bobbie Darbyshire

So I said that I wouldn’t write reviews for fiction because it would hinder the experience of getting lost in a book – and going into a book wanting to review it is still something I won’t do. But this one, that I found today in the bargain box due to a slightly damaged spine,Continue reading “Book Review of Oz by Bobbie Darbyshire”

Weekly Vlog 6 | Sketches galore, New Books, and a Venture Outdoors

So after last week, I felt a lot more comfortable talking to the camera and even went on a trip outside and vlogged in a cafe (ish) Hope you enjoy the video – like, comment and subscribe if you did! It means a lot to me ^_^

Book Review of The Hollow Crown by Dan Jones

The Hollow Crown is the second book that I have read by Dan Jones (and I have just bought his new book Power and Thrones which I am very much looking forward to reading), the first being the Plantagenets, which I fully enjoyed.  Having also watched his series Great British Castles (many times) which heContinue reading “Book Review of The Hollow Crown by Dan Jones”

Book Review of What I talk about when I talk about Running by Haruki Murakami

If I could ever say that a book had made me at least even think about picking up regular exercise of any kind, the one that comes closest is Murakami’s memoir about writing and running, What I talk about when I talk about running.  I have been a fan of Murakami’s writing ever since readingContinue reading “Book Review of What I talk about when I talk about Running by Haruki Murakami”

Book Review of Hidden Nature by Alys Fowler

This book was a cruel one for the sole fact that it made me bawl like a child. The tale of Alys’ life upheavals coupled with her travels up and down the canals of Birmingham (and sometimes London) is one that both intrigued me at points – Fowler is a gardener at heart and theContinue reading “Book Review of Hidden Nature by Alys Fowler”

A Spontaneous Book Haul

This was all a bit sudden and so if it’s waffly, I got excited about being home alone – as shown by me using my ‘nobody’s home inside voice’ XD Hope you like it! Books mentioned in the video: The Hollow Crown – Dan Jones. Why does E=MC (squared)? – Brian Cox and Jeff Forshaw.Continue reading “A Spontaneous Book Haul”

Book Review of The Celts by Alice Roberts

So I waited to read this book for no good reason, it was just one of those things. But I’m glad I got around to it because this book is brilliantly written and excellently put together. Alice Roberts really looks at all the practical, rather than ’emotional’ evidence which is out there in the worldContinue reading “Book Review of The Celts by Alice Roberts”
