It is a really good read and a really interesting premise but I do wish that there had been more dragons as that is the title of the book and that there was more than one paper dragon (that wasn’t a boat) that came into play – especially when her mother was someone who could make things from paper cutting so that would be a perfect thing to do. This may come in future books though I suppose.
Other than the misleading title, I loved the book. The world building was really fascinating and I love the jellyfish communicators and the de-aging and re-aging and the floating markets and it was all just so fascinating so I will probably get the sequel when it comes out.
The idea of the underwater school and the challenges was fascinating to me as well as the dragons with no wings not flying but gliding over hidden rails and that spirit powers would allow you to use them (as well as the jellyfish)
The characters were great and likeable – and the twist at the end was interesting. I didn’t expect it, but I was disappointed that the villain wasn’t the dragon from the beginning like I’d been hoping (or at least a dragon – perhaps a paper dragon since, you know, the title of the book didn’t really get much use)
