REVIEW

A great follow-up to her book Ancestors, Roberts talks about the period of Britain when Romans left and what burials in this time period shows us about the people that lived around the country at the time.

There is no one defined culture of Britain at any period of history that everyone followed, and mass migration or invasion was never really a thing by any culture – a slow integration of people and cultures seems to be more the conclusion that archaeologists are coming to from the range of different burials around Britain that are similar to those in different countries at different moments in time.

Very well written and a fascinating dive into the true variety of British culture and history.
