REVIEW

It is a really good read and a really interesting premise but I do wish that there had been more dragons as that is the title of the book and that there was more than one (tiny) paper dragon (that wasn’t a boat) came into play – especially when her mother was someone who could make things from paper cuttings so that would be a perfect thing to do – this may come in future books though.

Other than the (slightly) misleading title, I loved the book. The world building was really fascinating and I love the jellyfish communicators so much – and the aging/ de-aging and the floating markets and it was all just so fascinating so I will be getting the sequel when it comes out.

The idea of an underwater school/citadel and the challenges were interesting as well as dragons not flying but gliding over hidden rails and that spirit powers let you use them (as well as the jellyfish)

The characters were great and the twist at the end was an interesting choice. I didn’t expect it but I was slightly disappointed that it wasn’t a different figure from the book like I’d been hoping. Overall though, a brilliant children’s fantasy novel and a brilliant idea.
