My favourite chapters of this book were of Rheged (which covers where I live) and Fortriu but I enjoyed all of it as I did the author’s other book Viking Britain that I read a while ago.
It is hard to write a book where we don’t have much evidence for or against different points but it was still interesting to read and he managed to make it all flow really well.
His attempts at humour in some chapters did tend to go over my head, but overall a brilliant book.
