I haven’t listened to much Kate Bush so I didn’t get as much out of this as somebody who knew more of her songs would. However, it was fascinating to see how different her lyrics and the topics she covered in them were compared to other contemporary songwriting. She is much more of a storyteller in her lyrics and is a style that I admire.
I was surprised by how short some of her songs seemed to be, though I assume some may have been edited for a more ‘poetry book’ feeling. It is definitely a book I will enjoy flicking through again and again, both for fun and for inspiration.
