I love art history and I have listened to Hessel’s podcast so I had an inkling that I would enjoy this book.
I was happy to recognise some of the names of artists from The Great Women Artists podcast and to see the pieces of art that they did as well as many that I had never heard of.
I enjoyed the timeline to give structure to each chapter and I enjoyed the inclusivity in the artists that she chose to talk about.
I almost wish that more art pieces had been included or at least each one she mentioned to really connect to what she was saying about them but overall, a well researched and empowering read.
