REVIEW

I loved the concept that this book was going for, the characters, and the story’s plot, but I couldn’t quite get into the writing style and I found it quite jarring. The ability for all the creatures to talk to each other and the concept of the Hidden Folk were all something I would usually be fully on board with in a novel – especially a children’s one. But the telling of moral lessons and the ‘cuts to camera’ moments to deliver them often pulled me out of the immersion of the story. But overall a good message of taking care of the natural world.
