REVIEW
A a reader I didn’t think that I had that much to learn about what reading books – mostly fiction – could give to us. I was wrong in the best way.
This book was easy to read and was a good balance of anecdotes, interviews, and evidence with each chapter containing a new reason to read.
As a reader of mostly non fiction, I do wish she had talked more about factual books, but I also read a lot of fiction as a child than I do now and hold a lot of them in high regard. There is also a call for me to read more novels alongside my non-fiction. She doesn’t say anything negative about non fiction however and actually lists some in each chapter as recommendations.
I read it mostly in one go and it was a brilliantly written book that it made me fall in love with storytelling again.
