REVIEW

I loved this book and all the points that it raised. I was angry at the endless inequalities mentioned and I realised that this a good reaction – it means that I have resonated with the book’s message of disabled people – especially disabled women – should be helped and treated with respect not neglected and treated with animosity like they still are.

While the author does acknowledge that some positive progress has been made in disabled quality of life and representation, it’s still minimal with the double barrel inequality of woman and disabled compounding the issue immensely, which is sad to see in an era which is supposed to be modern and forward thinking.

I am definitely going to take the information to heart and see if there are ways that I can help in my daily life.
