REVIEW

This was such a beautiful and enthralling tale and I was not expecting to be so enchanted by a story of a Norwegian island woman who makes nests for ducks.

It was wonderfully moving – both because of the work that these women are doing to protect both nature and traditions, and the beauty of these women, their friendships, and their meaningful perspectives on nature, life, and forgiveness.

The tale was told in a way that was both raw but calm as the author bounces between recording the story of Anna and acknowledging his own problems and the life he was trying to run from – and to see him so accepted by the end of the book nearly moved me to tears.
