Beauty in damnation

There is beauty in damnation.
The purity of corruption and the childishness of sin.
Looking for the next problem to pull ourselves closer to the darkness.
Closer to home.
Vanity is beauty
Damnation is pride
The two are so closely linked that they are often intertwined.
One was the fallen Icarus.
The other shining Narcissus.
We condemn them and worship in equal amounts
History is tainted with the swellings of pride
Culture is stained with the colours of vanity.
Too often are these seen through rose-tinted veils.
Instead of the crumbling walls of conquerors
Lick your wounds and look at yourself
This beautiful sin is killing us
Light is not the answer
Darkness is too bitter
We need to find a middle ground
To make amends with our inner sinner
