The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien

I can see why this book is considered a classic of the fantasy genre as well as within literature as a whole.

The world-building, settings, and characters were all perfectly moulded to create a wonderful and timeless tale.

I have always been drawn in by the aesthetic of the worlds of Tolkien, and had watched the LOTR films plenty of times, as well as having the soundtracks on loop, but I had not actually read a Tolkien book until now.

And what an introduction to Middle-Earth that I had. It is a beautiful tale that really draws you in and makes you want to get cosy under a blanket as the rains fall out of the window, as you read Bilbo run ahead into his adventure.

This has definitely made me want to read the Lord of the Rings books, as well as his other tales.
